An efficient drainage scheme is paramount to all natural turf surfaces, whatever the sport, to avoid water logging, reduce compaction, and improve playability.
Steven Pask Limited can install drainage schemes to clients’ designs, or can carry out investigation and topographical survey work to create designs and submit costs for the installation of a site-specific drainage scheme, tailor made to meet each client’s individual requirements and budgets.
Drainage works tend to consist of two types of operations as follows…
Primary drainage - this consists of an underground network of plastic perforated land drainage pipes connected to an outlet.
Secondary drainage - this supplementary scheme consists of a network of slits or bands cut into the soil and filled with permeable media (such as gravel/sand/rootzone etc) to improve the percolation of surface water into the primary drainage scheme below.
We carry out all types of both primary and secondary drainage using the latest kit such as the Mastenbroek 10/12D sportsturf trencher, which is fitted with radiused track ends to minimise turf damage. We have two self propelled gravel backfill hoppers to ensure maximum efficiency on site. All our drainage equipment is fitted with low ground pressure tracks/tyres to keep surface damage to an absolute minimum. |
